Oakboards are specially engineered to avoid double-triggering. The way we accomplish this is by adding an additional 100ms delay when clicking the PLAY, STOP, PREV and NEXT buttons.
This extra delay is normally not desirable on a keyboard or drum pad MIDI controller – but the lack of it can cause misfiring in your playback system. Since our Oakboards are made for the purpose of starting and stopping playback systems in a live environment (and not for playing the drums), we feel this is the right solution to ensure every cue triggered from Oakboard can be delivered with confidence.
If you are interested in quick-firing buttons for any reason, the two auxiliary buttons, also called TOP MIDDLE and BOTTOM MIDDLE on Mini and Slide Duo, allow for more rapid, repeated presses.
If you are experiencing double-triggering when launching cues in Taz CueList with your Oakboard, ensure there's not a feedback loop being caused by the IAC bus settings. Many playback operators use track based MIDI events to AUTO-STOP Ableton Live’s transport. The correct IAC MIDI setting inside of Ableton Live should be:
SOURCE | TRACK | SYNC | REMOTE |
---|---|---|---|
INPUT: IAC Driver | OFF | OFF | ON |
OUTPUT: IAC Driver | ON | OFF | OFF |
